ALBERT ERNEST BROWNE It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Albert Ernest on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, peacefully at the Grace Hospice at the age of 79 years. Remaining to forever cherish Ernie's memory are his wife Dorothy (nee Lindsay) and daughters Debbie McEwen (Bob) and Cathy Goriak (Ron); grandchildren, Rob (Jenn), Trisha, Mark and Scott and great-grand-daughter Jada, friends, and relatives. He is also survived by his brother, Ron (Mary) and sister Shirley (Jack); stepbrother Skip (Roberta) and Rick (Pat). Ernie was predeceased by his parents Albert and May as well as brother Frank and stepsister Susan. Ernie was born in Victoria, BC. Here, he met his childhood friend, Len Mudry. They had their last visit together in June of 2007. He worked for Moore's Business Forms in Vancouver and later transferred to Winnipeg. This is where he met Dorothy. Over the years, Ernie worked at Moore's for 42 years and part-time at Sears for 23. Ernie loved gardening and the flowerbeds in his yard were his passion during the summer. He was also a devoted stamp collector and spent many hours working on his stamps and trading with various friends around the world. Ernie could also be seen at different hockey rinks, standing behind the glass watching Mark and Scott play hockey. This meant everything to the boys. In compliance with Ernie's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Special thanks go to the doctors and nurses and staff at Riverview Health Centre and Grace Hospice and the Home Care nurses, for their kindness and special care given to Ernie. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Ernie's memory to Cancer Care Society or Society for Manitoba with Diabetes. DAD YOU ARE OUR ROCK
